How to Arm & Disarm
📱 Using the App
- Open the Abode app
- Tap the Dashboard tab
- Tap Away, Home, or Standby
- You have 60 seconds to leave after arming Away
🔑 Using Your Key Fob
- Top-left button (lock icon) — Arm AWAY when leaving
- Top-right button (house icon) — Arm HOME when staying in
- Bottom-left button (X icon) — Disarm / Standby
- Always hold the button until the red light goes out — that confirms it worked
🔢 Using the Wall Keypad
- To arm: press AWAY or HOME — no PIN needed
- To disarm: enter your PIN, then press STANDBY
- Wrong PIN 5 times = 5-minute lockout. Wait, then try again.
- Forgot your PIN? Use the app or call EJ
🚨 If the Alarm Goes Off
- Don't panic
- Open the Abode app and tap Disarm — OR — press unlock on your Key Fob
- If monitoring is active, a call may follow — give your verbal passcode
⚠️ Fault Warning on Arming
- The app will show you what's open or wrong
- Close the door or window shown
- Try arming again
- Still stuck? Call EJ
Things to Know
🔋
Your system has battery backup. If the power goes out, it keeps working. You don't need to do anything.
🔢
Your wall keypad has its own battery. When the logo flashes red twice every 60 seconds, plug in the Micro USB cable to charge it. The green light means it's charging.
🔑
You need your PIN to disarm at the keypad. Write it down and keep it somewhere safe — not on the keypad itself.

The hub needs your internet router to work. If your internet is down, check your router first.

Keep the Abode app on your phone. It's how you control everything and receive alerts.

Keep your Abode login email and password somewhere safe — not on your phone. Write it down and store it securely.
What the Hub Light Means
Off (steady)
All good. System is in Standby.
Soft red, flashing
Armed in Home mode.
Soft red, solid
Armed in Away mode.
Bright red, flashing
Alarm is going off — disarm now.
Orange, solid
Something needs attention — call EJ.
What the Keypad Light Means
Solid white
Disarmed — Standby mode.
Solid orange
Armed — Away mode.
Solid blue
Armed — Home mode.
Red flashing
Alarm going off — disarm now.
Solid green
Keypad charging.
2× red flashes / min
Battery low — charge via Micro USB.
Orange, constant
System fault — call EJ.
Apple Home & Siri
🍎 Arm with Siri — Free
- "Hey Siri, arm my home" → sets Home mode
- "Hey Siri, arm away" → sets Away mode
- "Hey Siri, disarm my home" → sets Standby
- Siri and Home app automations work even without an Abode subscription
📍 Geofencing — Arm & Disarm Automatically
- Your system can arm when you leave and disarm when you return — automatically
- Uses your iPhone's location — no buttons, no codes, no forgetting
- Works free via the Apple Home app (ask EJ to set this up)
- If you have a paid Abode plan, the Abode app also offers geofencing with multi-phone tracking
- Requires "Always" location permission for the Home or Abode app
📷 View Cameras
- Open the Home app on your iPhone
- Tap the doorbell or indoor camera tile
- Live video opens immediately
- Recorded clips from the last 10 days are in iCloud
🔔 Doorbell Alerts
- Your iPhone notifies you when someone rings
- Tap the notification to see live video
- Tap the microphone to speak to them
- Works anywhere you have internet
📺 Apple TV Must Stay On
- Your Apple TV runs your camera recordings and automations
- Do not unplug it
- It can be in sleep mode — that's fine
- If cameras stop working, check the Apple TV first
